As of the 28th of this month here in the State of Missouri, our Castle Doctrine will go into effect and the 1921 Jim Crow law was repealed, that law was a bad law from the git go, and it was long over due to be repealed, now it is. Basically it was a law to prevent Negro's from beng able to own, or possess a fire arm of a concealabe nature, You had to go to the Sheriff's office and fill out a request to purchase a hand gun and the Sheriff had 7 days to aprove or disaprove the request, if it was aproved you could then go to the Dealer and transact the Purchase, if not, then you could not buy the weapon, we do have the right to carry a concealed Weapon after taking a Safety Course a Shooting Course with both Revolver and Simi Auto, being able to place 15 out of 25 shots in a target at 7 yards, the trainning cost about $100.00 + or - and the paperwork to get the actual permit is another $100.00, and you then have to get a Drivers License endorcement added to your Driver Licence stating that you are a CCW permit holder and this is then intered into the MULES system of the LEO's, you can elect to get a seperate ID card for your CCW instead of your Drivers License but it still cost the same , Not sure but I heard this cost $10.00

So basically for $210.00 you can get a CCW that is good for 3 years, it ain't great but at least we have a Shall Issue State for a CCW.::americanflag::

Here in Oklahoma

$60.00 for the self defense course
$10.00 for the pass port type photo
$25.00 for finger printing
$100.00 for Oklahoma state bureau investigation, back round check. If you pass the license is good for 5 years and comes as a seperate card.
Takes about 90 to 115 days to get the check done.

They now offer 10 year renewal options.

There is a Push to get the CCW license here in Missouri increased to 5 years, which makes good since to me, now if they could get the rest of the Castle Doctrine, (Anywhere You Are), added to the wording of the law we would be in good shape.

And I am trying to get some support for a unified fee for the Safety, and Shooting training for the CCW Qualification, to quire the CCW Permit, at the present time it cost between $35.00 to $135.00 dollars, it just depends on who is instructing.

The same State Guidelines have to be met, the Shooting Qualification is the same State Wide, and the CCW License Fee at the Sheriff's Dept. is the Same, the cost of the actual License is uniform, and has two levels, one fee for a Drivers License endorsement, and one fee if you choose to have a separate CCW ID Card.

So my argument has always been why the big difference in price for the CCW Weapon Class?

This is why I carry a Florida CCW Permit, they recognized my Military Training as good enough for the Safety and Shooting part of the requirement, It cost me $5.00 for the Fingerprints to be taken at the local Police Station, $8.00for the Passport Photo's, and $117.00 for the Back ground check by the FBI and the actual fee for the License combined , plus the License is Good for 5 Years, and aside from Kansas It is recognized by nearly as Many States as our Missouri License is which is all round for me a good deal I don't travel anyway.
